Best Ideas Crochet Bed Skirt

Crochet bed skirt adds a cloth band in contrast to your bedding and allows you to hide the area under the bed. If you have a footboard in your bed, your bed skirt should fall on both sides, but not down to the foot of the bed. Sew your own bed skirt to accommodate your bed, creating an appearance that is uniquely yours. This project requires a small amount of sewing knowledge. Remove the mattress, exposing the spring of the box. Measure the length and width of the top of the box spring and add 1 inch to both of these dimensions. Cut a rectangle of fabric that matches the measurements. Depending on the size of the bed, you may need to put the rectangle together. This is the cover that is sandwiched between the mattress and the mattress, so you can use a plain, cheap cloth, like muslin.

Measure the distance from the top of the box spring on the ground and add 1 inch. Cut two garment fabric rectangles that are as wide as the measurement found in Step 4 and provided the mattress length measurement in addition to 1 inch. This is the visible part of the crochet bed skirt. Hem the two short sides of the cover by turning the edges down twice, creating a fold that is ¼ inch deep on both occasions. This creates a finished edge with no visible loose threads. Sew the flat folds by using a sewing machine to run a seam line along the length of the fold.

Hem both short sides and one long edge of each of the rectangles cut from the fabric of the garment. Place a rectangle of fabric garment on top of the cover, matching the long edges, with the pattern side remaining inside. Sew the long edges together, ¼ inch from the edge of the fabric. Position the crochet bed skirt on top of the spring box with all seams facing down. Place the mattress back on top of the spring box and the bed skirt. Use an adjustable sheet from the cover if you are in a hurry. Just use a marking fabric pen to mark a seam line to join the fall of the skirt.
